What It Means to be a Leader
To be a leader is to keep track of what you are pursuing. A leader must remember that nothing, absolutely nothing, is truly achievable without any help or influence. A leader must recognize that success and failure are results derived from leadership but also "followership". A leader must be able to make the tough decisions, but decisions can change, develop, or even transform. To adapt and overcome is to survive and evolve, confidence is a skill and a trait a leader must hone. Although a leader must separate facts from emotions, emotions should not be forgotten because emotions have a strong guiding force -that is what makes us human.

A leader must never step on the shoes of anyone climbing up and down the ladder. The leader must choose to lead, the led must acknowledge the assertion and responsibility of the leader. A leader should not look down upon followers because to look down upon someone is to look up to oneself, arrogance and pride are completely different. A leader must be thankful and appreciative of the privilege of being the leader and never abuse power. A leader should recognize when it is time to shift responsibilities and rest because no leader can work forever. A leader should acknowledge his weaknesses as well. If the leader cannot fulfill the requirements above, acknowledgement is the first step in resolve. A leader should be passionate and unique, confident and bold, patient and calm. A leader should work really hard, because lazy people resemble a shrimp, if you snooze you lose. A leader should be smart, dedicated, and always move forward - always get back on two feet. A leaders should pursue knowledge and transform it into change.
